Obituary of James Andrew Sacco
Obituary for: James Andrew Sacco
James Andrew Sacco, 74, passed away on May 28, 2013 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Andy was born on June 23, 1938 in Queens, New York. He was the only son of the late Louis Carmen and Florence Rose Sacco.
Andy is survived by the love of his life and best friend for over twenty years, Buffy Ripperdan, along with three children: Laura Lee (John) of Saint Louis, Missouri, Mark Sacco (Christy) of Tampa, Florida and Bobby Ripperdan of Fort Myers, Florida as well as four grandchildren: Eric, Audrey, and Jack Lee and Angel Ripperdan.
Before relocating from New York to Florida in 1974, he served in the United States Navy in Key West. Andy quickly grew to love living in the warm and sunny climate of southwest Florida. It inspired his love of gardening, the beach, and listening to live music. After retiring from his remodeling business, he enjoyed his retirement years which enabled him to spend more time with his numerous friends and family, especially his grandchildren.
Andy was passionate throughout his life about exercise and health. During his treatment for lung cancer in both 2005 and 2012-2013, Andy marveled at the bravery of children battling this disease. As such, memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Barbara's Friends, which provides funding for the treatment and educational needs for children with cancer in southwest Florida.

A private family service is planned for June 19, 2013.
