Obituary of Peter Allen Stilphen

Peter A. Stilphen, aged 76 of LaBelle, Florida, formerly of Weymouth, Massachusetts died on November 13, 2015 after a sustained period of illness. Peter was a proud graduate of Weymouth High School, Class of 1957, and of Bentley College, where he earned a certificate in accounting and finance. Peter was a successful entrepreneur, owning 67 different businesses throughout his life in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Florida. Peter was an all-scholastic halfback and co-captain for Weymouth High School's undefeated Class A football team in 1956. Peter was noted as one of the best running backs in the State of Massachusetts in 1956. He was inducted into the Weymouth High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2003. Peter was predeceased by his parents William and Dorothy Stilphen of Weymouth. Peter is survived by his wife of almost 17 years, Billie Stilphen and by his three children from his first marriage, Cheryl Moschella and her husband Mike of Burlington, MA; Chuck Stilphen and his wife Meg McAdam of Oakland, CA ; Glen Stilphen of Newton, MA; and his stepdaughter Laurie Welsh and her husband John of West Palm Beach, Florida. He is also survived by his siblings, Richard Stilphen of Venice, Florida, Sandy Stilphen of Weymouth, MA, Gary Stilphen of Hull, MA, Billy Stilphen of Naples, Florida, and Hollie Scarborough of Kingston, MA. Peter is also survived by 10 grandchildren. Known for his sarcastic wit and practical jokes, Peter was greatly loved and will be dearly missed. Peter was an advocate and lover of animals.
