Obituary of Jessica Angelina Faye Bird

Jessica Angelina Faye Bird was called home by our Lord on February 20, 2017, after a spirited and courageous battle with cancer. Jessica was born December 3, 2001 in Naples, Florida. Shortly after, Jessica and her family moved to Sugar Tree, Tennessee. Jessica attended school at Decatur County Middle School and was a member of Trinity Assembly of God in Decaturville. Jessica's love of life included animals, art, movie, music, dancing, makeup, fashion and the Florida Gators, but mostly her family and Jesus. Jessica had a smile that lit up the room and a warmness that touched all. Through it all, Jessica kept her sense of humor and positive attitude. She remained faithful, brave, and courageous. She inspired and encouraged and worried about her fellow warriors at St Jude. Jessica is survived by her loving and caring parents: James Daniel and Martha Faye Bird; her two loving and caring supportive brothers: Jacob Daniel and James Wesley Bird. Her proud grandparents: James R Bird of Immokalee, FL and Tommy and Sarah McEwen of Lexington, TN. Her aunts and uncles: Nicky and Tammy McEwen; Shenan McEwen; Sandra and Terrell Raines; Sissey and Steve Boyd; John Bird; Kathy Bird; and Clyde Bird. Her numerous cousins and friends and her German Shephard puppy, Shadow. Jessica was preceded in death by her grandmother: Gladys Angelina Bird; her aunt: Mary McEwen; her uncle: Allen McEwen; and her cousin Brandon Plunk. Jessica was not only grateful to and appreciated all the people at St Jude's that loved and cared for her, she loved them. While Jessica touched their hearts, they, too, touched her heart. Jessica knew people all over the world was praying for her and appreciated each and every one. Jessica's last wish was a cure for childhood cancer. She requested that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to St Jude.
