Obituary of Johnny Louis Platt

Johnny Louis Platt, age 82, of Alva, passed away April 22, 2017 in Hope Hospice of Lehigh Acres. He was born Nov. 29, 1934 in Moore Haven, FL, to Louis Blackshire and Johnnie Jewel (Sumner) Platt. Mr. Platt was married to his "Loving Wife" Barbara Jean Bunce for 62 years. He lived in Lee County 46 years, he also lived in Melbourne and Clewiston. He worked for over 21 years as a dragline operator for Lee County. He attended Bethel Holiness Church in LaBelle. He was a very spiritual man, who loved spending time reading his bible, being at church and spending time with his family and friends. And to all those who promised to be in Church with him I'm sure he would say this is your last chance. Survivors include his wife: Barbara Jean (Bunce) Platt, three sons: John (Tammy) Platt, Reese (Lisa) Platt of Lehigh Acres, FL and Michael Platt of Alva, Fl. and three daughters: Cheryl (Dewayne) Harrison of Alva, FL, Lavena (Timothy) Perkinson of Lehigh Acres, Fl. and Patricia Platt of Naples, FL. two sisters: Hazel Taylor of Inglis, FL and Peggy Going of Okeechobee, FL. one sister in law Joann Harrington of Melbourne, one brother in law Mack Lassiter of Melbourne, many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents Louis Blackshire and Johnnie Jewel Platt, one sister Welda Wolfenbarger, two brothers L.B. and Oyd Platt and four sons Arthur Louis, Robert Lee, Dennis Alan, and Paul Andrew Platt. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 29, 2017, 10:00 am at Bethel Holiness Church in LaBelle with Brother Jeremy Howell officiating. Interment will follow at Venus Cemetery, Venus, FL.
