Obituary of Robert A Wall

On Sunday September 24, 2017, Robert (Bob) Wall Jr. peacefully passed away at Hope Hospice in Lehigh Acres, Florida after a brief illness. Bob was born in Savannah, GA in 1935. He began his life adventures at an early age. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1956 and continued to proudly serve his country for the next 21 years both stateside and abroad. Serving in Greenland, Paris, Germany and Vietnam. He married Sue in May of 1957 and like many other military couples their family grew while serving. Bob retired from the military in Homestead, Florida in 1975 and dug his next adventure, a 34' sailboat out of a cow pasture, refurbishing her and aptly naming her the "Gypsy Ark". He would sail, single handed, for the next 25 years as he made her his home. Inviting his children and many friends to join him on his cruises. He would later trade a life on the water for a life traveling the United States in a RV. Even though he and Sue were no longer married they remained friends throughout the years with Bob traveling from Florida to Colorado every summer to visit Sue and other family members. Bob is survived by Sue Wall , his three children , Wendy (Ed) Cooley, Rob (Brooke) Wall, Tracie (Chris) Manwaring. His grandchildren Lauren, Matthew, Austin, Tristan and Sarah and his great granddaughter Reese. A service will be held at a future date and as requested Bob's ashes will be placed in the Gulf of Mexico. A special thank you to Sandy, Jim and Barbra and Daryl along with his many other friends who watched out for him during his last year. He will be greatly missed. Arrangements by Akin-Davis Funeral Home - LaBelle.
