Obituary of John L. Brick, Sr.

John Leroy Brick, Sr., age 92, of Fort Myers, originally from Minnesota, passed away September 10, 2017 in Fort Myers. He was born Dec. 13, 1924 in Minneapolis, MN, to the late Hubert and Florence (Gates) Brick. John loved fishing, dancing, playing cards, having a good time, the Vikings, and most of all spending time with his family. John was loved dearly by his family and friends and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his son: David (Jackie) Brick, three daughters: Nancy Hanlon (Bruce Parker), Janice Brick (Kevin McCormick) and Bette (David) Kysylyczyn, two sisters: Dorothy Russell and Beatrice Pouliot, nineteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren, step children: Robin (Angela) Eakman, Rochelle Myers, step daughter-in-law: Sunja Eakman and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wives: Eileen (Herbert) Brick, Leola (Anderson) Brick and partner: Anna Bruckman, son: John L. Brick, Jr., brother: Patrick Brick, sisters: Margaret Smith, Shirley Trazig, brother-in-laws: Earl Smith, Joseph Trazig, Arnold Russell, Francis "Red" Pouliot and sister-in-law: June Greig, and stepson: Scot Eakman. A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, October 16, 2017 at 11:00 am at VFW Post 9625, 1919 Coon Rapids Blvd NW, Coon Rapids, MN 55433. Burial will be Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 11:00 am at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, 7601 34th Ave. So., Minneapolis, MN 55450.
