Obituary of Gloria Eden
Gloria Adkins Eden, 80, passed away on November 16, 2017. Gloria was born Jan. 10, 1937 in Akron, Ohio and grew up in Kenmore, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Walton Adkins, Sr and Nell Rhea (Driskill) Adkins, her brother, Frank Walton Adkins, Jr.
She is survived by her husband John Eden, daughters; Julianne E. Costell and Susan R. Costell, grandsons Corbin J. Wandling, Ryan A. Wandling, and Devan R. Stafford, step children, David Eden and wife Amy, Eric Eden and wife Esther, Marie Carlson and husband Fred, and many step grandchildren.
She graduated from Kenmore High School in 1954, from there she went on to University of Akron Nursing School where she graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1958. Gloria worked as a RN after graduation. She became a stay at home mom in 1964 and a member of Cuyahoga Falls Jaycee Wives. In 1968 she became a sales rep for Tiara Glassware until she became an award-winning sales rep for Park Lane Jewelry where she won several trips – her favorite place being Hawaii, and many awards. She met her current husband, John Eden, on a blind date and they were married November 23, 1985. For the last two years she and John were residents of LaBelle.
She became a certified health minister and loved to share her knowledge with all she knew or who were ailing. She sold different products, all health related for, air and water purity, vitamin supplements and so on.
She was on the board for Love, Inc. She was a member of The Chapel for over 20 years, and enjoyed singing in the choir. Before that, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls.
A memorial celebration of life will be held 2 pm at Good Shepard Episcopal Church on Saturday, December 9, 2017.
