She was born Oct. 15, 1949 in Honduras, to the late Ogdulio and Maria (Reyes Ortiz) Mejia.

two sons: Eduardo Guzman and Jose Guzman
one daughter: Geovanna Pellot
one brother: Marcos Antonio Ortiz
five sisters: Raquel Montoya Ortiz, Julia Maradiaga, Lillian Mejia, Maribel Sorto and Vilma Ortiz,
9 grandchildren
