Obituary of Carvel L. Strait

Carvel L. Strait, age 78, of LaBelle died Sunday, March 27, 2011 in Lehigh Acres, FL. Carvel was born February 26, 1933 in Lauderdale County, AL. He is the son of the late John Wayne and the late Susie Belle (Stanfield) Strait. He served in the Army. He was employed by Ford as a Factory Worker. He is survived by his wife: Roberta D. Strait, step son: Donnie Sprouse, daughter: Debra Devisme, daughter in law: Peggy Strait, eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, brother: Roger Dale Strait and sisters: Frances McVay and Betty Hall. He was preceded in death by his sons, David Wayne Strait and Ricky Joe Strait and sister: Elsie Bevis. The funeral service will be held Thursday, March 31, 10:30 a.m. at Akin-Davis Funeral Home, 560 E. Hickpochee Ave., in LaBelle with Reverend Roger Bradley officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Denaud Cemetery, LaBelle . Visitation will be Wednesday, March 30 from 5-9 p.m. at Akin-Davis Funeral Home in LaBelle.
