She was born to the late David Clayton Spivey and Nellie Celeste Spivey May 7th, 1941 in Tabor City, North Carolina. Nell grew up in a large farming family with 13 children. Upon graduating high school, she furthered her education by attending Business College and then moving to Florida around the age of 21. She resided in Ft. Myers where she remained for 17 years raising her 3 daughters. In 1979 she moved and lived in the Labelle, Moore Haven and Clewiston area for the remainder of her years. Nell retired from Tri-County Senior Services in 2005. After retiring she spent her time doing the things she loved until Alzheimer's made that difficult, living out her final 3 years at Terrace Palms Nursing Home in Clewiston Florida. Nell enjoyed gardening and her favorite flower was the yellow rose. She also very much enjoyed knitting, crafting and spending time with her family and friends. For a period she also raised doves, loving the sounds of their cooing. Nell was an amazing cook and baker, filling the house with delicious candy, cookies and fudge during the holidays. She was well known for her generosity and kind heart, always reaching out to help others in need. She adored and loved her children and grandchildren and would go without to make sure they had what they needed. This kind, loving spirit and acts of service will forever be in her family's hearts and has shaped her daughters to be the same. She is preceded in death by her brothers: DC, Joe, Billie Rae and Bob, as well as sisters Genevieve, Agnes Nell, Frances, Princess, Bernice, Dorothy and Nancy.
