Obituary of Lawayne Rawls

Lawayne Rawls, age 80, of Felda, passed away February 20, 2019 in Lehigh Acres. He was born March 19, 1938 in Pettit, TX, to the late Leldon and the late Alyene (Warren) Rawls. He served in the Air Force 3 years in the States and abroad after graduating from high school. After graduating from Rollins College with a degree in Accounting in May, 1970, he taught high school business related classes in Orlando and Labelle, before starting Rawls Accounting Service. His hobbies included woodworking and spending time in the barn. Most of all, he loved Jesus and spending time with family, church family and friends. Survivors include his wife: Lorraine (Dunaway) Rawls, two daughters: Rhonda (Timothy) Roettele of Naples, FL and Dawn (Preston) Long of LaBelle, FL, one brother: Verlon Rawls of CA and one sister: Annette Ancinec of Clyde, TX, grandchildren: Preston Long III, Morgan Roettele, Tanner Long, Josh Roettele and Elly Long. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 10:00 am at First Baptist Church LaBelle. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be given to First Baptist Church LaBelle for Fidelis Scholarship Fund or Youth Camp Fund or Hope Hospice of Lehigh.
