Obituary of Lorene Byrd

Lorene Byrd, age 61, of LaBelle, passed away May 25, 2003 in Labelle. Lorene was born second to the youngest of eight children. The only girl of Constant and Bertha Chaney Luke. As a small child Lorene had naturally curly brown hair and looked like Shirley Temple. Lorene got her naturally curly hair from her Mother Bertha Chaney Luke. She had big brown eyes and a huge smile. One of her brothers always had to carry her because her Mother Bertha Chaney Luke was so proud to have a baby girl so she spoiled Lorene and her feet was never allowed to touch the ground. Lorene was only three years old when her Mother Bertha Chaney Luke passed away in child birth to Lorene's baby brother Luther Luke. Lorene had to grow up fast in a home full of boys. As an adult she only stood 5' tall. She loved cooking, dancing, ceramics, delivering meals on wheels, and helping people her whole entire life. Lorene married LW Byrd January 6, 1962 in Charotte Michigan. Lorene had three children with LW Byrd Sr: Tonya Elaine Byrd, Arleane Tawana Byrd, and LW Byrd Jr, Lorene never got over her Mother's death her whole entire life.
