Obituary of Austin P Gillis

Austin P Gillis, age 78, of Fort Myers, passed away January 3, 2020 in Cape Coral. He was born July 3, 1941 in Providence, RI, to the late Chester and Lucy (Barron) Gillis. He attended the LaSalle Academy, Providence College, and the University of Notre Dame. His career encompassed being the Director of Executive Recruiting for United Technologies Corp, Executive Recruiter for the Stevenson Group, Head of Human Resources for Uniroyal, and he owned Pierce Associates. He was passionate about golf, and was a Member of the Verandah Club, as well as the Fox Hopyard. He was a Communicant of St. Vincent DePaul Church. Survivors include his wife of 53 years: June (Carroccia) Gillis, two sons: Matthew (Jennifer) Gillis and Christopher (Meghan) Gillis, three brothers: Daniel, Robert and Chester, one sister: Marilyn and 6 grandchildren.
