Obituary of Barbara W. Fulp

Barbara Lois Fulp, 75, went home to her Lord on Tuesday, July 5, 2011at 8:51pm surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Barbara was only 11 days away from her 76th birthday, ending a remarkable life. Barbara was born in Winston-Salem, NC on July 16, 1935 to John and Lola Wright. She married Charles Allen Fulp of Winston-Salem, NC on March 13, 1955. Her husband had a career with the US Army and together they lived and traveled around the world. Barbara raised her family in Alexandria, VA and upon her husbands retirement, they relocated to LaBelle, FL for the remainder of her life. Barbara loved reading and teaching God's word. She taught many Bible classes and led numerous Bible studies. She loved playing the piano and listening to Christian music. She was a faithful member and volunteer in her church. Barbara was a prayer warrior and spent many hours praying for others. Barbara was a loving wife and dedicated mother to both of her sons and her daughter-in-law. She also had many other "sons" and "daughters" in the Lord. She was a true and loyal friend to many people around the world. Barbara is survived by her husband of 56 years, Charles Allen Fulp; her son Keith Allen Fulp of Winston-Salem, NC; her son Steven Charles Fulp and daughter-in-law Camilla Fulp of Lindale, TX; her grandsons Cameron David Fulp and Christian Steven Fulp of Lindale, TX; her God-daughter Elizabeth Witt Samess and husband Daniel Samess; Her sister Mary Mickey and husband Ted Mickey of Winston-Salem, NC; her brother-in-law W. Melvin Fulp and sister-in-law Betty Fulp. A memorial service was held on July 11, 2011 at Carlson Memorial United Methodist Church in LaBelle, FL. The family hosted a private grave-side service at Fort Denaud Cemetery in LaBelle, FL. Online condolences can be made to her family at www.@akin-davis.com.
