Obituary of Roscoe Nigel Miller

Roscoe Nigel Miller, Jr, age 95, of Clewiston, passed away April 28, 2020 in Clewiston. He was born Aug. 3, 1924 in Alva, FL, to the late Roscoe Nigle and the late Lillian (Rogers) Miller. He graduated from LaBelle High School. He served in the US Navy aboard the Destroyer USS Shea as a Sonar/Radar Technician during WWII, patrolling out of Guantanamo Bay. He Graduated from the University of Florida with a Civil Engineering Degree. He worked for the Corps of Engineers. He was dedicated to his family, as well as the First Baptist Church of Clewiston where he served as a Deacon since 1954. He was a member of Rotary and the Gideons. He was an avid golfer, and at one time City Champion. Survivors include his wife: Joan (Jones) Miller, three sons: David (Debra A) Nigel Miller, Michael Jones and James (Marla) Jones, five daughters: Jane (James Predeceased) Rudd, Marianne (Andy) Anderson, Bonnie Sue (Jeff) Krone, Sandra (John) Baker and Melinda (Lee) Jones, 17 Grandchildren & 13 Great Grandchildren He was predeceased by his brother: Roger Ellis Miller A private service will be held due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and a public Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
