Obituary of Edward Lawrence Boyle
Edward Lawrence Boyle, Jr, passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2020. He was born to Edward L. Boyle, Sr and Thelma (Lee) Boyle on September 30, 1944 in Bradenton, Florida. He became an avid fisherman at an early age growing up on Snead Island, just west of Palmetto, Florida. He also enjoyed hunting from time to time. He attended Palmetto High School where he played football for the Palmetto Tigers. Larry joined the United States Navy at the age of 17. He participated in four tours of duty in Vietnam. He was discharged from the Navy in 1968 after more than seven years of service to our country. He visited twenty-nine countries during his enlistment in the Navy. He resided in Patton Village, Texas for many years. He then moved back to Florida in 1991. He really enjoyed the outdoors. He was a landscaper and gardener by trade. His family heritage was plant nurserymen. He was a very private person. But he was always willing to help his family and friends when needed.
Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Mershman Boyle; his father and mother, Edward, Sr and Thelma Boyle; two brothers, W.E. "Gene" Boyle and Patrick C. Boyle and a step-son, Jonathon Thornton.
He leaves behind one brother; Michael W. Boyle of Largo, Florida, a daughter; Sharon Arnold of Livingston, Texas, two granddaughters and four great-grandchildren, uncle; James (Darlene) Boyle of Orlando, Florida, aunt; Betty Boyle of Bradenton, Florida, nephew, David (Karen) Boyle of Ft. Myers, Florida, niece; Pamela (David) Cauffman or St. Petersburg, Florida. He also leaves behind many beloved family members and friends all over the country.
Larry will be laid to rest at Bay Pines National Cemetery in St. Petersburg, Florida.
