Obituary of Doris M. Bergers
Doris Marie Daisey Bergers, 81, of Ft. Myers entered the presence of our Lord on October 22, 2011. She was born in Frankford, Delaware to Isaiah Francis and Mary Eva Daisey. With her two sisters, she was blessed with a rich Christian heritage and enjoyed life on the farm while growing up.
She is survived by Paul, her husband of almost sixty years, two daughters, Kareen (Ben) Ratliff of The Woodlands, Texas, and Darlene (Cary) Burkhart of Colorado Springs, Colorado, four grandsons, Jeff, Aaron, Daniel, and David, and one sister, Althea Clark, of Ocean View, Delaware.
Doris spent her life contributing to others. She was an outstanding elementary school teacher for a span of more than fifty years. She used her many talents in faithful service to the Lord through music and teaching, volunteering for The Salvation Army, and knitting several hundred hats for children's organizations throughout the world. In everything she did, her integrity was surpassed by none.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at McGregor Baptist Church, 3750 Colonial Blvd., on October 26, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. with a family graveside interment service to follow at Sarasota National Cemetery.
We celebrate that Doris has entered the Church Triumphant and is at peace with her Lord and Savior. Memorial gifts may be made to The Salvation Army of Ft. Myers or to your local church.
