He was born October 11, 1945 in Alabama the son of Mr. Raymond and Mrs. Betty Jo Blake Trammell. He was retired with high honors from the United States Army after 20 years of service. He later worked as a security guard for years. He leaves behind his loving wife: Virginia (Norwood) Trammell, daughter; Mary Jo Barry, step-son James Ray Norwood, Sr, three granddaughters; Payton, Olivia and Parker, two grandsons; James Ray Norwood, Jr and James Arthur Norwood. He also leaves behind his parents, brothers and a host of friends. Funeral services were held Monday February 22, 2010 at 11:00 am in Akin-Davis Funeral Home, 438 E. Sugarland Highway Clewiston where Rev. John Booher officiated. Interment with Military Honors provided by the United States Army was Monday February 22, 2010 in Ortona Cemetery, Moore Haven. Visitation was Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in Akin-Davis Funeral Home, Clewiston, Florida. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to be given to his wife.
