Obituary of Teresa Bonita Wetherington

After a long illness and brave battle, Teresa Bonita Nelms Wetherington, age 58, of Belle Glade, Florida went peacefully to be with her lord and Savior on November 4, 2012. Teresa was a radiant Christian and a loving example to her family, church and many friends. Teresa was born on June 12, 1954, as the oldest of four daughters to Nelson Nelms and Frances Nelms (deceased April 29, 2003). She graduated from Belle Glade High School in 1974. She was a life-long member of First Baptist Church of Belle Glade where she played the piano, organ and volunteered much of her time serving the Lord and others. She worked for 13 years as a secretary for Dr. Hatton in Pahokee, FL. Teresa leaves behind a legacy of compassion for others, her faith in God, and the unconditional love she had for her family and friends. She is survived by her father, Nelson Nelms of Belle Glade; her husband, Charles Dwayne Wetherington of Illinois; her 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Jarod Davis of Clewiston, FL., Cyndi and Carl Carner of Tamarac, FL, and Crystal and Craig Francis of Beverly Hills, FL.; 5 grandchildren, Reygan and Ryan Carner, Shane and Rebecca Francis, and Emma Davis; and 3 sisters and brothers-in-law, Pamela and Robert Ellis of Clewiston, FL., Alice and Randy Gay of Belle Glade, FL., and Christina and Sony Willis of Belle Glade, FL. She is also survived by close friends, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Belle Glade, 17 N.W. Avenue B, Belle Glade, FL. on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 2 p.m. with Brother Gary Folds and Rev. Bill Taylor, officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to "Word of Life Missions Philippines" in support of missionary Mike Foster by way of First Baptist Church of Belle Glade, 17 N.W.
