Obituary for: Christine W. Elliott
Christine W. Elliott, age 100, of LaBelle, passed away December 20, 2012 in Lehigh Acres.
She was born Jan. 13, 1912 in Mill Town, GA, to the late Charles James and the late Emma Caroline (Patten) Wheeler. She was a former resident of Okeechobee, Pahokee and Canal Point. Christine was a former Trustee of Barron Library and Past President of United Methodist Women. She also was a member of Friends of the Library, LaBelle Beautification Committee, Pahokee & Clewiston Garden Clubs, LaBelle Heritage Museum and Alpha Sigma Phi in LaBelle. Christine was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include her son: Michael J. (Sherry) Elliott of LaBelle, Jess P. (Sharon) Elliott of Atlanta, GA, grandchildren, Joseph (Mette) Elliott; Susan (Michael) Lilley of LaBelle, Merry Lynne(Kent) Mathis of Jacksonville, Jennifer Evans and Mandy (Tom) Bird, great-grandchildren, Jared Mathis; Micah Mathis, Brandon Mathis and Lindsey Bird and nieces & nephews, She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jess M. Elliott son: Charles Elliott, and four siblings.
A graveside funeral service will be held Wed. December 26, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at Port Mayaca Cemetery, Canal Point with Rev. Joe Wallace officiating. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 5, 2013, 2:00 pm at Carlson Memorial United Methodist Church, LaBelle with Rev. John Bennett officiating. .
