Obituary for: Elton Lee Kirkland We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Elton Lee Kirkland, age 76, of Donalsonville, GA. who passed away Monday, July 8, 2013 at Capital Regional Medical Center in Tallahassee, FL. Mr. Kirkland was born in Grady County, GA on March 30, 1937 to Troy Lee Kirkland and Sadie Lou Kirkland. He worked as a welder for Quaker Oats in Clewiston, FL and was also a member of Sopchoppy Congregational Holiness Church. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Joan Kelley Kirkland of Donalsonville, GA; a beloved cat, Garfield ; one brother, Joe Lavon Kirkland (Diane) of Ochlocknee, Ga; three sisters, Lyndal Mathews (Ron) of Pavo, GA; Diane Bryant (Gerry) of Thomasville, GA; Elizabeth Maddox (Mark) Ochlocknee, Ga ; brother-in-law, Donald Kelley of Clewiston, FL; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Troy Lee Kirkland and Sadie Lou Kirkland; a brother, Leroy Kirkland; and a sister, Wanda Kirkland Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 20, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at Akin-Davis Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Murphy officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Clewiston. Visitation will be Friday, July 19 from 6-8 p.m. at the Akin-Davis Funeral Home in Clewiston.
