Obituary of Dorothy Jean Bishop

Dorothy Jean Bishop, age 82 a lifelong resident of Ft. Myers, passed away May 9, 2014 in Fort Myers. .Born April 27, 1932 she graduated from Ft. Myers High School, where she was a member of the Glee Club (The First Singing Christmas Tree) and loved playing the piano. She enjoyed working in the yard, feeding the birds and squirrels, and watching them play. She worked as a secretary for National Standard Life Insurance Company and retired after 30 years of service. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Melnot Kaune Jr., two brothers Walter Kaune III, Jack Kaune, and her grandson, Joe Cerasoli. Survivors include her daughters Sharon (Snapper) Vaughan, Karen (Charlie) Cook, and Nita (Scott) Cornett. Grandkids Jimmy (Eryn) Smith, Stephen (Emily) Cook, Stephanie (Eddie) Cook, Gina Cerasoli, Nick Cerasoli, and Tia Vaughan. Great-grandkids, Gavin Cerasoli, Brendan Beasley, Jessie and Jasmine Blocker. She also loved all of her grand-puppies. There are many other family members and lifelong friends that loved her dearly. Visitation will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Akin-Davis Funeral Home in Fort Myers with services immediately following.
