Obituary of Rose M. Furman
Rose May Pretz Furman, age 79, a long time winter resident of La Belle, Florida, was peacefully called home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ, Sunday Dec 21st, 2014 while at Oakbrook Nursing Home, in La Belle, Florida, after a courageous fight against multiple illnesses. Born May 29th. 1935, in Cleveland, Ohio. The daughter of the late John & Hermine (Cernohorsky) Pretz. Rose was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother who cherished every moment spent with family and friends. An Ohio resident for most of her life, Rose was a graduate of Platt R Spencer High School, Kent State University Ashtabula, a 4-H adviser, she sold Avon products and was employed by Reliance Electric Of Saybrook, Ohio as a Winder. She relocated in 1975 to La Belle, Florida where she worked for Hybrid Bees as a Queen Bee Inseminator. She was a founding member of Christ the King Lutheran church in La Belle, Florida.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 130 , as well as a member of the LaBelle Moose Lodge #2398 in La Belle, Florida. Her hobbies included roses, gardening, cooking, ceramics, sewing, quilting, playing scrabble and bingo. Survivors include her children, Emily Luce of Ashtabula, Ohio, Michele & William Bart of La Belle, Florida, Vernon & Susie Furman of Geneva, Ohio, Karl & Leah Furman of La Belle, Florida, Katrina Taylor of La Belle Florida, Mary & Chris Kibbler of Ashtabula, Ohio; Adopted daughter Laura Furman of La Belle, Florida, Stepson Edward Furman of Ashtabula, Ohio, and her brother Carl Pretz of La Belle, Florida; She is also survived by 19 grandchildren Stephaine Luce Jones, Michael Luce, Samantha Luce Ness; Roseanna Furman Carncross, William Bart; Weston Furman, Danielle Furman SanFilipo, John Furman, Karl Furman; Amber Furman, Will Williams, Jordann Williams Walls; Mathew Rentz, Jessica Ackley, Jacob Conrad; Joshua Severe, Krista Severe, Veronica Kibbler, Christopher Kibbler & 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Although greatly missed by her survivors, she was willingly released to God to reunite with family and friends who went before her. Rose was preceded in death by her parents John and Hermine (Cernohorsky) Pretz, her husband Edward Furman, her stepdaughter Hope Furman Showalter, her brother John Pretz and two sisters Lillian Pretz Bolek and Vera Pretz Puleo. A memorial service celebrating her life will be December 29, 2014 at Christ the King Lutheran Church in La Belle at 11:00 A.M. Her cremains will be interred at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Geneva, Ohio at a later date.
