Obituary of Lila Shewmaker-Rea

Lila Shewmaker-Rea, age 62, of Alva, FL, passed away March 16, 2015 in Alva. She was born Dec. 22, 1952 in Fort Myers, FL, to the late Jesse Doc Gwaltney and the late Julia Corrine Drake. Lila grew up on the waters of Fort Myers Beach and Sanibel, her father being a commercial fisherman. She pursued a career in optical services and received her optician license. Lila had a true passion and love for horses her entire life. She will be remembered for her kind and loving personality. Lila adored her family and beloved horse "Charlie". She is survived by her husband: James H. Rea, three sons: Jamie Shewmaker, JL Shewmaker, III (Lacie), Matthew J. Rea (Lisa) and one daughter: Bridgette Diane Shewmaker-Cochran (Kenny), two sisters: Jessica Gwaltney, Mary Anne Shay, grandchildren: Cutter J. Cochran, Brilee Blake Cochran, Lexi Rea and Nephew: William Dunbar. She was preceded in death by her sister, Caroline Sue (Gwaltney) Dunbar.
