Obituary of Linda F. Matson

IN LOVING MEMORY OF LINDA FAYE (BYRD) MATSON "MEEM" 12/21/39 ~ 6/20/2015 Linda was called home peacefully while in the care of Hope Hospice in Lehigh Acres, FL on the morning of June 20th. She is preceded in death by her husband Charles 'Chuck' Matson "Papa". Also preceded in death were parents A.P. & Katherine Byrd, siblings Gilbert Byrd & Mary Ann Byrd, and grandson Dalton Haley along with many other close family members who were waiting with open arms. She is survived by her four sons; Andy Haley, Tim Haley (Rick Pearce), Brent Skinner, and Curtis Matson (Tracy Matson). Survivors also include her brother Richard Byrd and 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and a beloved 13 year old furry child Georgia. Linda was a lifelong resident of Fort Myers and a graduate of Fort Myers Senior High class of 1957. She retired from the Florida Dept. of Revenue in 2005. Linda was well known for her kindness, humor, and love for family and friends. She enjoyed cooking, shopping for bargains, bingo, and most importantly being surrounded by family. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, June 27th at New Hope Christian Church at 17181 Tarpon Way, N. Fort Myers, FL 33917.
